A view of the Avenue of the Dead and the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan, believed to have been constructed around 200 AD. This picture gives spectacular views from the top of the Pyramid of the Moon. Teotihuacan is an ancient Mesoamerican city located in a sub-valley of the Valley of Mexico, located in the State of Mexico 40 kilometres (25 miles) northeast of modern-day Mexico City. It is known today as the site of many of the most architecturally significant Mesoamerican pyramids built in the pre-Columbian Americas.
