The Arizona desert usually seems somewhat moon-like and generally hostile to all life. However, there are times when the desert springs to life. During just a few weeks, following a (relatively) rainy season where the desert experiences around 25mm of rainfall per month, the landscape fills with green and yellow, and to a lesser degree orange and red. There is animal life too, however it is nearly all nocturnal and therefore does not feature in this panorama. During the day there are only a few birds and lizards.
