Palmyra was an ancient city in central Syria. In antiquity, it was an important city located in an oasis 215 km northeast of Damascus and 180 km southwest of the Euphrates at Deir ez-Zor.
This experience shows the Tetrapylon monument as it appeared in 2008. The Tetrapylon monument was intentionally destroyed in 2017, along with other important archaeological monuments of the World Heritage Site of Palmyra.
