This 360 image is taken right from the middle of the Kimchi Sharing Festival held in Seoul, South Korea.
The festival is a relatively new one – it was first launched in 2014 with the aim of bringing together many traditional methods of making this staple Korean food. Kimchi is a seasoned side dish of fermented and salted vegetables (often cabbage and Korean radishes). The dish dates back to at least 7 AD, and there are over 180 varieties! During the festival there are many kimchi-making workshops led by experts, opportunities to taste and buy kimchi made with a range of traditions, and large-scale events like the one pictured. In this photograph, you can see thousands of people making kimchi that will be donated to people in need.
