This scene takes the form of a hot desert: an extreme habitat where only the best adapted survive. Water is in short supply, and although the glaring sun heats up the air to staggering temperatures during the day once that sun sets it is a different story altogether. In the desert there are different animals and plants that can be explored.

# Climate{.objective .objective1}
In this section a typical desert climate will be described as dry. While deserts have much in common, deserts do have a varying climate landscapes, ecosystems and habitats. In this scene, observations should lead to discussions and identification of the longer lasting typical dry climates, common across deserts around the world.
# Plant Life{.objective .objective2}
In this section, typical plants that are adapted to desert conditions are described. Exploring the scene, modelling dry conditions lacking water shows the harsh conditions plants have to deal with. In rare occasions where underground water systems can create oasis that can encourage a grater population of plant life to grow.
# Animal Life{.objective .objective3}
In this section, a range of desert animals are modelled that are adapted to survive in the dessert. Particular focus will be applied to the Fennec Fox, a type of dessert fox. Be observing the fox, students should discuss what features would help the fox survive the dry conditions of a desert, such as short fur, long slender limbs and body, and big ears to help it transfer heat away from its body.
