# Your Heart, the Muscle{.objective .objective1}
This section focuses on the muscular structure of the heart and describes how get beats to push blood around the body. From the atria to the ventricles, valves and associated blood vessels, the activity asks students to compare their own heartbeat with the movement of the model in the centre of the room.
# Text {.objective .objective2}
This section uses a detailed diagram and explanation to show the valves, ventricles, Atria and septum within the heart. Using the diagram and the model of the heart, the function of the heart to pump blood in a single direction is outlined. The pumping action consists of rhythmical contraction by the cardiac muscles of the heart wall. The activity asks students to look at the heart and locate all of its key parts.
# Your Pulse and the Heart Rate{.objective .objective3}
This section relates the model in the scene to students’ pulse in real life and explains how to find your pulse and calculate your BPM. The pulse is created by the heart when it beats. It causes the blood within the vessels to experience the force exerted by the heart, and the pressure can be measured. This activity tasks students to compare their heartbeat with the model and tried to calculate the bpm of the heart inside the lab.
