This scene takes place on board one of the ships that was given to Christopher Columbus by King Ferdinand of Spain. Students should be able to enter scene and investigate, the length of the journey, what conditions the sailors and Columbus faced on their travels, and the goods that Christopher Columbus discovered when he found The Americas.

# 1: Columbus’ Early Life{.objective .objective1}
In this section students can learn how Christopher Columbus wanted to travel to the Indies and decided that it would be quicker to sail around the world following a new route. Student can examine the scene and discover which route Columbus took and learn about why he ended up in the Americas.
# 2: The Journey{.objective .objective2}
In this sections students can learn about the harsh weather conditions Columbus faced on his journey and how many of his sailors were killed by a lack off food, water and terrible diseases. Students can examine the tight conditions and explain why disease was able to spread quickly.
# 3: What happened in the New Worlds?{.objective .objective3}
In this section students can learn about the Americas and how soldiers who arrived in the New Worlds discovered treasures like gold and planted crops. Students can investigate the landscape and learn about the Columbian Exchange
