This is what a lunar eclipse would look when viewed from the surface of the moon. As the Earth passes in front of the Sun, it reveals a red ring of sunrises and sunsets along with the night side of our planet. The red ring casts a ruddy light on the lunar landscape. Because the moon is slightly darker during a lunar eclipse, stars become visible on the horizon. The part of Earth that faces the moon is the part where the lunar eclipse can be seen.
