Description

View just below the informally named summit of "Mercury" (elev. 6,950') in Olympic National Park, Washington.  The peak has a nice direct view of Mount Olympus & Blue Glacier, the high peak of the mountain range.  One can also see the upper sections of the large Hoh Glacier behind nearby Mount Mathias.  Most of the adjacent peaks close to the mountain are informally named after Greek or Norse gods.  Being of volcanic & sedimentary origin from the ocean floor, these summits contain very rotten choss, making for a slow climb.
