Description

Isola di Pantelleria is an idyllic Italian island and comune in the Strait of Sicily in the Mediterranean Sea. It is situated 106 kilometres southwest of Sicily and 68 kilometres east of the Tunisian coast, and many say on a clear day, you can see Tunisia. Pantelleria is hugely diverse; there are mountains, 50 volcanic cones, crops, and valleys.

Because of its location and diverse landscapes, the island produces Passito di Pantelleria, a sweet white wine made from Muscat of Alexandria or Zibibbo, one of the rarest grapes in the world.
