Cloudy afternoon on the edge of the spectacular northern escarpment dropping into the Jamison Valley of the Blue Mountains are three sisters, formed in sandstone by land erosion, but whose birth in indigenous dreamtime legends is much more romantic. The Blue Mountains themselves are a spur of the Great Dividing Range which runs almost the full height of the Australian continent. This panorama was taken from near the Echo Point lookout at the edge of the town of Katoomba.
