Description

Prestosuchus is one of the largest carnivorous Archosaurs of the Rauisuchian group. The length exceeds 5‒6,5 meters. The genus is characterized by remarkably large skull (1 meter in length) and knife-like serrated teeth. Limbs are situated underneath the body, the frontal ones are shorter. The tail is relatively long and massive. Prestosuchus lived in the Late Triassic (ca 215‒210 Ma) in Brasil.
