Description

Allosaurus belongs to large Late Jurassic (160‒150 ma) Theropod predators. The length of the animal was almost 10 metres, the weight exceeded almost 2,5 tons. Marked crests or horns are typically developed in front of the orbits. Originally, they may have been enlarged by horn material (keratin). Skull is massive, jaws disposed with knife-like teeth and marked with indentition at margins. Shorter arms possess noticeable claws. Allosaurus lived in the Northern America and Europe (Portugal).
