Rhamphorhynchus

Rhamphorhynchus ranks as a smaller pterosaurs with a very long tail (rhamphorhynchoid line). The wingspan exceeds dozens of decimeters, the largest wingspan recorded is about 1,8 m. The length (including the tail) is 1,3 m for the largest specimen. The skull is slightly prolonged and cambered. Teeth are needle-like. The long tail, ended by rhombic rudder, is typical. Rhamphorhynchus is known from the Upper Jurassic lithographic limestones (151‒148 Ma) of Germany. He preys on small fish.
