Description

Pelecanimimus was a small theropod, whose size did not exceed 2,5 meters in length. The skull is narrow and markedly prolonged with small crest on the vertex. Jaws possessed a lot of small teeth (about 200). The body was lightly built, resembling the recent ostrich. In the neck (throat) region, the remains of the gular pouch were discovered. Pelecanimimus was supposedly omnivorous and lived in Europe (Spain) during the Early Cretacous (133‒130 Ma).
