Description

Sarcosuchus belongs among the largest crocodilian reptiles known. The length exceeds 12‒13 meters and weight about 8 tons. Sarcosuchus is characterized by a very large skull (1,6 meter in length) and by conical, slightly curved teeth. The tail is relatively long and massive. The body is covered (both dorsal and ventral parts) with bony plates - scutes. Sarcosuchus lived in the Lower Cretaceous (112‒110 Ma) in the northern Africa teritory and probably also in the South America. He preyed on large fish and probably also on dinosaurs.
