Description

Herbivorous Styracosaurus belongs among large Ceratopsidae. The length was 5,5 meters, height 1,8 meters and weight about 2,5‒2,7 tons. The spiked frill projecting from the back of its skull was compound of 8 spikes of the length 50‒55 cm and several shorter spikes. The horn on its nose exceeded to length of almost 60 cm. Jaws were shaped like beaks. Massive limbs were situated under the body and the tail was relatively short. Styracosaurus lived in the Upper Cretaceous (76‒74 Ma) in the North America territory.
