Description

Drewria potomacensis represents a first unequivocal gnetalean megafossil described from the Early Cretaceous of USA. The stems are slender, with opposite and decussate simple leaves with entire margins; each is up to 2 cm long. The reproductive organs of D. potomacensis are dichasia organized in three spikes that produced flattened seeds, each 2 mm long, and subtended by a pair of bracts.
