Description

When chlorine atoms are sufficiently close to each other, chemical bonding occurs. When a chlorine molecule is formed (Clâ‚‚), two electrons are shared equally by both chlorine atoms (schematically depicted on the model). This type of chemical bond is called a single covalent bond.
