**Information:** Ozone is a toxic, colourless and thickly blue gas. Liquid ozone is blue, hard black-violet.

**Use:** It is used as an oxidizing agent. It has excellent disinfectant properties.

**Appearance:** It occurs in the upper atmosphere. The largest amount is included in the ozone layer at an altitude of about 25 km above the Earth's surface. The ozone layer protects living organisms from ultraviolet radiation.
