**Information:** Nickel is a poisonous, malleable, traction metal with a silver colour. It has ferromagnetic properties (it exhibits spontaneous magnetization).

**Occurrence:** Nickel is relatively richly present in earth's crust, large quantities are contained in the core of the Earth. Among its most important minerals are pentlandite (Ni, Fe)ā‚‰Sā‚ˆ or nickel sulfide NiS.

**Structure:** The nickel crystallizes into a cubic (cubic) system (a surface-centered base cell).
