**Information:** Diborane is the simplest compound of boron with hydrogen. It is a colourless gas which may form explosive mixtures with air. In the diborane molecule, there are two electron-deficient bonds between boron and hydrogen atoms (boron-hydrogen-boron).

**Use:** It is used as rocket fuel, reducing agent, catalyst and a dopant for semiconductors.
