**Information:** Boric acid is a white crystalline solid. It forms white flaky crystals, in which

planar molecules of boric acid are connected into layers of hydrogen bonds. It behaves as a very weak acid.

**Use:** Its 2% to 3 % aqueous solution (boric acid) is used in ophthalmology. It is also used in pyrotechnics (green flame colour).
