Description

Tetragonal prism (6-faced form) shows several elements of symmetry, i.e. center of symmetry, five mirror plane, one 4-fold rotation axis and four 2-fold rotation axis. The three mirror planes and two 2-fold and one 4-fold rotation axis are perpendicular to each other and run along the crystallographic axis a₁, a₂, c. The remaining two mirror planes and 2-fold rotation axis cut and run diagonally in prism. The all planes and rotation axis are intersected in the center of the object/crystal, where the center of symmetry is located. The tetragonal prism is a typical crystal form for the tetragonal crystal system.
