Description

Rhombic dipyramid (8-faced form) shows several elements of symmetry, i.e. center of symmetry, three mirror planes and three 2-fold rotation axis. The mirror planes and 2-fold rotation axis are perpendicular to each other and run along the crystallographic axis a, b, c. All planes and rotation axis are intersected in the center of the object/crystal, where the center of symmetry is located. The rhombic dipyramid is a typical crystal form for the orthorhombic crystal system.
