Description

A monoclinic crystal system is characterized by three axes of unequal lengths, where two axes are perpendicular (at a right angle – α and γ) and the third axis intersects the other two at an angle other than 90° (angle β). Mineral examples include e.g., sulfur (occur also in a rhombic form), gypsum, augite, muscovite, biotite and hornblende.
