**Info:** Malachite is a copper carbonate hydroxide mineral with a characteristic green colour with shades from black-green to pale-green. Malachite is opaque, mostly occurring in a form of powder, botryoidal and stalagmitic aggregates. It also occasionally produces small columnar and acicular crystals. Malachite was used as a gemstone and mineral pigment or as a low quality ore of copper.
