**Info:** As garnets are called isometric minerals from the group of nesosilicates. Garnets are most often found in the rhombododecahedral or hexoctahedral crystal habit. Grained and compact aggregates are less frequent. Garnet species are found in many colours, e.g. red pyrope (Mg, Al) known as "the Czech garnet", red-purple almandine (Fe, Al), orange-red spessartine (Mn, Al), yellow to brown-red grossular (Ca, Fe), brown-red to brown andradite (Ca, Fe ) or green uvarovite (Ca, Cr). Garnets are often used as gemstones.
