Description

** Petrology:** Quartz, feldspar, plagioklase, muscovite (common mica), biotite and amphibole (hornblende) are rock-forming minerals associated with accessory minerals e.g., titanite, zircon, magnetite, apatite and tourmaline.

**Genesis:** Granite is a common type of felsic intrusive igneous rock which is granular and phaneritic and porphyritic in texture and coarse-grained structure of such a holocrystalline rock. Granite can be predominantly white, pink or gray in color, depending on their mineralogy. It forms large plutons, domes and massifs. Granit, granodiorite and quartz diorites form the majority of the continental crust. Granite is a common dimension stone used in construction, paving, facing of buildings or curling stones. Rhyolite can be considered as the extrusive equivalent to the plutonic granite rock.
