Description

Hydrocarbon resources (gas and oil) mostly occur in more permeable materials such as sand, sandstone, limestone etc. These sediments are isolated by impermeable rocks that created an underground traps for oil and gas. Sedimentary basins, stretching a long distance, accommodate many reservoirs while sharing a common aquifer. In such a connection the production of liquid from one reservoir influence the pressure, resulting in decline in other reservoir by liquid communication via the aquifer.
