Angle ‒ Orientation

by Corinth

Description

When operating with the angles and when inserting the angle into the coordinate system, it is important to add or deduct the angle with the right size and direction. So we have to choose one side of an angle as the initial (in the coordinate system usually the positive half of axis x) and a second side as final. When reading the size of this so-called. orientated angle we always proceed from initial side to the final one.

Counterclockwise - a positive angle

Clockwise - negative angle

If there is a situation when we subtract a larger angle from the smaller, the result is a negative angle.
