The term Archimedean body is so called spatial highly symmetrical semi-regular convex polyhedron. It is composed of two, three or more types of regular polygons.



The name is derived from the Greek mathematician, physicist, philosopher, astronomer and inventor Archimedes of Syracuse, who mentioned these geometric shapes in his writings.
