Wildebeest, also called gnu, belong to the family Bovidae, which includes antelopes, cattle, goats and sheep. They are native to Eastern (Kenya, Tanzania) and Southern Africa (Botswana, South Africa). Both males and females grow horns, can measure up to 1.30 meters in height and weight 200kg (440 pounds). They travel in large migrating herds that are active day and night grazing constantly.
